It has been a while so first things first: Thank you SO much to all you “bridgeheads” for the numerous shout-outs, messages, phone calls, etc. You are amazing and I love you guys very much!
Also, I want to welcome all my new subscribers from Europe. You know how much you are loved and I will be getting back there soon to see you. What a blessing it will be to get back on the road again!
That’s right. On the road again. It has been too long and I can’t wait to see everybody. I will never let this kind of time pass again without illuminating my true character, of which movement is key. Staying in one place has never been my style and it shall not continue.
To my New York City crew, I have perhaps missed you the most and reading your correspondence has been the hardest to get through. I hated missing the U.S. Open this year but I will be there next year with bells on. (Speaking of the Open, you may recall my blog 5 years ago regarding Sloane Stephens. Right after I watched her play in Arthur Ashe stadium during my first visit to the Open, I predicted she would be a grand slam champion one day. If you don’t believe me, go back in the archives and read it again. Once again, my prediction was on point – congratulations Sloane!)
So I will be in my beloved New England this autumn (in a few short weeks in fact) and I can’t wait to soak in the beauty of this time of year in that amazing part of our nation. I’ll be stopping all over, visiting everyone who has a front row seat in my life, and be warned because I may not leave this time!
We will culminate this tour in my home of Manhattan where I’ll be right on 8th Avenue viewing the Macy’s Day parade up close and personal along with all my Broadway buddies. Just writing about it creates excitement in my heart.
As for fitness, none of you have any excuses given the cooler temperatures of late. Even though it was miserable in the south this summer, we still managed to maintain about 45 miles per week, running every course imaginable. In fact, I had to watch it because I dropped down to 102 lbs. at one point. I’m back to my usual 105 lbs. now and loving being in shape, fit, and healthy. And now that I’ll be relocating, my joy is unsurpassed.
So keep the emails, calls, tweets, etc. coming because it blesses me so much to hear from all of you. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my church family on 57th street in NYC…..can’t wait to see you all soon!
Love you all dearly and will keep the blog full from now until the end of the year as we journey once again together!
