It has been too long since my last communication. Thankfully, I’ve heard from many of you and all I can say is I am one blessed girl!
As most of you know, I’ve had to relocate yet again in order to advance my career. However, this was not just a move, but a true test of faith and obedience to God’s call on my life. It was especially hard to make this move but I know it is absolutely necessary in order to reap the fullness of God’s blessing in my life. So in a matter of a few months, I totally divested from what was comfortable and easy to what is undesirable and difficult, understanding that God has a divine purpose for it that will culminate in a deeper walk with Him. After all, our faith has little opportunity to grow in comfort and ease. I had to be willing to trust God, even when I don’t understand His plan in totality.
And in so doing, I plan to enjoy all that He has for me in this season. I’m excited to be back in the urban setting I love so much, soaking up all the diversity it affords. At the top of the list is finally getting the opportunity to see a concert pianist (in this case, the great Joyce Yang) perform Prokofiev’s Third Symphony, something I’ve dreamt about for nearly three decades.
And yes, I will be back on the run circuit in 2020, as well as returning to the U.S. Open to see all my beautiful sisters – Serena, Venus, Coco, Sloane, Madison – shine as brightly as the stars they are. And of course you’ll see me in Vegas, NYC, Dallas and of course, my beloved Nashville.
Yes, it is going to be quite a year.
I have no idea the details in between (although I know what I’m trusting God for and believing in) but I do know that with His guidance, the journey will be amazing.
Thanks for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you all out there!
